Pre-K Enrollment and Youth & Education Events

Apply to pre-kindergarten for the 2012-13 school year

Families with children born in 2008 can now apply for public school pre-kindergarten programs for the 2012-2013 school year.

Families can get an application and a copy of the 2012-13 Pre-Kindergarten Directory by either visiting the Department of Education's website or visiting a local borough enrollment. The Pre-Kindergarten Directory includes information about how to apply as well as a list of both public school and community-based organization (CBO) pre-kindergarten programs.

The deadline to submit a pre-kindergarten application for public school programs is April 5.

Starting next week, the DOE will also be holding information sessions where families can learn about pre-kindergarten admissions. Staff members from the Offices of Early Childhood Education and Student Enrollment will be available at the sessions to answer families' questions about pre-K programs and the admissions process. All information sessions will be held from 6-7:30 p.m.
